I have a stock SBC 400 complete running engine that I'm going to replace the 882 heads with some World Products Sportsman heads with 64cc 200 intake runners and 570" max lift springs,Edelbrock RPM Air Gap intake(7501) and Holley Street Avenger 670 carb what will be a GOOD cam to install in this engine for good performance in a DAILY DRIVER that does not require a stall or gear change I was thinking about the Comp Cams Extreme energy XE262H .462"/.469" lift and 218/224 duration @ .050" what do you think?THANKS

Unless you have future plans for a build I think you are shooting yourself in the foot with those heads. Although you are going to pick up some compression, the 200 cc runners are going hurt your bottom end and you want a daily driver. I think you would be further ahead (and cheaper) with some vortex. I would also suggest running the recommended springs for the cam and what ever you do don't forget about the steam holes in the 400.

So you think a 200 cc head is to much for a SBC 400 daily driver I have Edelbrock E-TEC 200 heads on a stock bore SBC 350 engine and it pulls GREAT.

So do you think the XE262H OR XE268H cam will work best in my stock SBC 400 with the World Products Sportsman heads with stock converter and stock gears in my 1978 Monte Carlo daily driver?THANKS
