what does is take for a 295 rear tire?

hey guys just wondering what it will take to tuck a 295 rear tire on a 17x9.5 rim. id like the rear fender lip to be about half way down the side wall or maybe a freckle higher. the rear end will stay stock width unless im told different by a local car builder that i need to contact. setting ride height and which size tires i need to prepare for is kinda confusing for my first time around at this lol.

My best guess is you would need around 5.5" of backspacing on that 9.5" wide wheel, and definitely would need a frame notch with reinforcements. This is of course if you are wanting it to sit as low as you described "halfway down the sidewall".
