I hate to sound stupid but I have yet to understand the whole wheel area yet. Let the questions begin... lol

I got some firebird rims from my friend and my stock lugs don't work. (they pretty much fit inside of the holes in the rim)

I come to figure out I must need to get the long/skinny lugs that use the washers to hold the rim on. I just need to make sure if this is true and if there is a certain size/thread count I need. I have the stock rear with drums in the back.

Sorry for being dumb.

Hey Lemans,
I don't know much about Firebird rims but it sounds like you need some Mag wheel lug nuts, they make several lengths on the narrow shoulder just make shure they're not to long and stick out past the wheel flange as your wheel won't tighten up,I don't know what wheel stud thread they used in 80,my 79 had std 7/16 and my 81 had metric untill I changed everything on it back to 7/16,any good parts store ought to be able to help you on that one,I've bought Mag nuts here @ AutoZone reasonable,of course if you can figure out what you need you can mail order from Jegs or Summit a bit cheaper nearly overnight for no extra charge,Good Luck! There is an Advance Auto near me that has a little section with the different sized wheel studs that are labeled. I might bring one of my original lugs and see what size it is.

Sounds like you got late 70's F body wheels. They used lugs similar to what used to be called "Unilugs". You may have trouble with the offset on those wheels if they're what I think they are.
