What year(s) 700R4 do I need for a precomputer car ? Also what year(s) is the 27 spline and the 30 spline run ? Thanks Doug

Late 87 - 93 700R4/4L60 are the best cores, they have the factory improvements. Late 87up has the preffered Auxillary Valvebody. The newer the better. 2001 up 4L65E 5-Pinion Planetaries can be used in the 4L60.
Some 93's are computer controlled 4L60E's, 93 T/A, Z-28, Firebird & Camaro are not.
82-84 have 27spline Input Shaft. Early 85 may have 27spline, so check & don't bother trying to upgrade one of these turds.

Trucks (mini and full size) started with the 4L60E in late '92 I believe, all '93s for sure. My '92 Sierra is still a 4L60.
