wire location in car

does anyone know where this wire is under the dash? the brw/white going to the ignition switch on the bottom of the page.

i thought it was connecting on the topside of the column next to the brights but it didn't check out.....

You might be driving yourself nuts looking for a ghost. The drawing states that wire is on "A" series gage option, so if your car isn't an '80 or older with the optional gages, it may not be there.

thanks for the heads up. what are the "optional gauges"? how could i identify that?

My guess is the gauge cluster option that actually has a voltmeter. Some cars that had a round-gauge style cluster didn't actually have gauges, just dummy lights.

If you have a wide sweep speedometer you definitely won't.

I believe the later year clusters (post-'83 probably, so they wouldn't have been in the Malibu originally) all had the round-gauge style setup, but some still had idiot lights.

And some actually had gauges.
