Painting Roll Cage/Rust Removal

Post by DonM » Mon Sep 01, 2014 6:10 pm

Had a 8.5 cert cage put in last winter. Going to paint it before the snow flies. I have decided to use Rustoleum Hammer paint since it offers easy painting and easy to touch up when I get the usual scratches and nicks. Since the cage install the bars have a really fine flash rust on them. Can barely feel it but has a little of that brown color to it. Not a paint guy so what is the easiest way to remove this flash rust? Is there a chemical that takes it off? I see Summit sells something that advertises to do this very thing. Any thoughts or experience with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
