My 78 malibu has a bolt-on harwood 4 inch fiberglass hood that uses the stock hood latch . I have been running mid 11s with no problems but have just stepped up my game and now will be a couple of seconds faster . Any idea about when I will need to use pins on the front to keep it on the car ?

I just got them for my Harwood 4". Going to run low 11's. I also have a dzus fastener on all 4 corners that go through the top and bottom layer. They look pretty cool, but the reason is b/c the Harwood's de-laminate frequently. Many heat cycles from being in the sun makes the glue release and the layers separate; I've seen it happen in person and figured it is all extra insurance.
I'm not sure if your's is two layers, I have the show quality finish bottom, and it's pretty old since it came with the car 7 years ago.
