hey Guys and Gals. Last year I installed dual electric fans on the 81 Malibu. I found out the adjustable fan switch didn't adjust, they where ether on or off. So I bought new switch Hayden #3653). Now they come on and off when I want them to. Setting in the shop the fans cool the Bu all day, But driving up and down the road 50 to 60 MPH the gauge is telling me the fans are on. so I just order a new Champion radiator from (koolradiatorscoolingsystems). That should do the trick . Three years a go I bought a Champion radiator for the El Camino and love it .

If you overheat on the highway, three things come to mind:
1. No chin spoiler
2. No upper cover between the radiator and the grille
3. Shround on the electric fans may be restrictive.

Do you know which one you wound up getting? I have been trying to find my way through their ebay page and they show so many descriptions, 2,3,4 tube etc. thanks.

The El Camino has #EC162 two row 3/4" tubes . I just bought and installed #AE162 which has two row with 1" tubes. They also have a three row with 5/8 tubes #CC162. Before ordering double check upper radiator hose is the size you need. the only fitment problem I had was the over flow port on the radiator is smaller the stock radiator. Also the drain petcock is on the drivers side and is facing the engine compartment. (koolradiatorscoolingsystems)
