Intake, trans & accessories questions

Post by veltboy618 » Sat Nov 05, 2011 2:50 am

I'm got a little money saved up for my 5.3 swap so I want to go ahead & get some parts before I spend it on something else...

I'm looking for a LS1 intake. I saw a package on craigslist for the intake, fuel rails, & injectors. What's an average price for one of these setups? I'm not trying to pay more than its worth..

I have been looking for a 4L60E transmission & i been seeing a few of them on craigslist also. Is there a certain year or  trans that I need or will any 4L60e work.

I'm looking for a water pump & accessories for a car. I would like to have a setups with the high mount alternator like these. Anyone show where i can find one?

if its just a regular LS1 intake(not an LS6) $250-300 is a fair price, look on LS1tech for deals, they pop up occasionally for cheaper

as for the 4L60E, id try to get one from a 98-2002 F-body, or 2000 and up 2WD pickup truck (with a V8). try http://www.car-part.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;, or LKQ or seller F-Parts on Ebay to check pricing ive seen them as cheap as $200(needing a rebuild) all the way up to $1200 for a used one with warranty.

If you do end up with a LS1/6 intake make sure you do get a car water pump. The truck pump has the spout that comes out the top instead of straight forward and wouldn't clear the intake.
81' Malibu- LS1 forged internals, MS3 cam, stage 1 LS6 heads, TH-350 tranny, 3500 converter.
97' Trans Am- 355 LT1, M6, 3.73 rear
02" Chevy Z71 Ext. Cab

I plan on getting on one soon. If someone have a good water pump or alt/PS setup like the ones on my first post let me know
