I have read anywhere from 15 to 22/23(This particular case was using a TH350 and 3.73s)
I am trying to figure out a good way to estimate mine since I have no speedo hooked up, and no way to hook one up.

Drive a certain distance in a vehicle with an accurate speedo. Start out at a gas station, and end at the gas station. Then you'll have an exact mileage, and you can fill up before & after you finish the drive. It'll probably have to be something like 200-300 miles round trip, just to be sure you empty most of the tank.

My car, with 4.11 gears, 8.5 rearend, 4l80e trans and the 6.0l truck motor...oh tire size was 275/65/15s was getting about 21-23 mpg high way, and city...well 14-15 if I could stay out of it. With my 255/50/17s I get a little bit less, but not much. Only mods are the zo6 cam and the heads were cleaned up inside. Needs a better tune on it and I'll probably get worse MPG and better speed ;)

You need to use the average of several fill-ups due to the variations in pumps at different stations. With an average across several fill-ups, you don't even have to completely fill up except for the last time. Ensure the first and last fill-up are at the same pump at the same station for the most accuracy.
