is a regal instrument cluster just a plug in play or do i have to do anything special for it to work in my 1981 malibu with a regal dash?

since i guess no one has a regal dash in there malibu i will post a teaser picture of my regal dash in my malibu.
im putting a grand national dash into my camino and the dash harness does not plug into the engine harness. i dont know about a regular regal harness but the GN doesnt. im going to splice my original harness into the dash or go painless, not sure yet.
I put a Regal dash in my El Camino, but I also did the turbo motor swap. Still not complete, the front lighting/horn harness and rear lighting harness look like some pinouts need to be changed around a bit. I'm looking for detailed wiring diagrams for both vehicles but no luck just yet. I can tell you that if you plan on keeping A/C you need to swap the under dash ducting over to the Regal stuff too. In the pic you can see the duct and the vent arenot even close.
