Howdy,

Let me tell you my experience. I have a 1986 regal with an lt1 with iron heads and a 6 speed. The car has the a/c system in place, power brakes, power steering. I did the ls1 brake swap which added 3/8" each side to the front tire width. I installed 5662 in it as well as g-body cargo and the car sits higher than i would like. I removed a third of a coil off the front springs and it is still too high for me all the way around, but i need to keep the car at that height because i run 245/45 17 tires and i will get just the slightest rub on the front fender lip at higher speeds when i hit a bump. To be honest, the 5660 springs are softer and would probably have put me right where i am now without having to cut the 5662 springs i have. You mentioned you still have the v-6 springs, what drivetrain and options are you running on your car? How low it is now, and how high are you trying to raise it?

I did the 5660 & IMO are way too soft , the front tires 245/45/17 rub alot . I wish I had gone with the 5664 spring like I did in my previous malibu .

Were you running 5664s with drop spindles? What kind of brake setup are you running and what offset wheels? Have any pictures of the height you had in the front?

I apologize I thought you meant it was sitting too low and rubbing because of it. If you just want a heavier spring the 5662 will probably do just fine for you. As far as the wheels are concerned, as long as they are zero offset 2wd s-10 wheels you should be fine. as far as i know the 4wd models used a different offset but i might be thinking the offroad models.

Does anyone have any ride height measurements & tire size & pics using the 5660 & the 5662 springs cause I'm also torn between springs for a 87 Elcamino small block with a/c , I have 225/70/15 tires up front which is advertised at 27.3 inchs height and with stock springs my front fender lip measures right at 28 1/2 high and I would like to drop it about 1/2 to 1 inch to close the gap up some . I am also considering the Hotchkis 1902F springs that have a advertised 1in drop any feedback welcome . Thanks
