Will install kit 373 0017 allow the shifter to come up through the factory hole in the floor? My car is a factory 3 speed on the floor car. It would be nice not to have to cut the floor. The shifter that came with the M21 is for a 60's Chevelle so the shifter is 3" or so too far back.

I think so. The stock Saginaw 3/4 speeds had the shifter moved forward about 3" compared to a standard Muncie/T10 and that install kit looks about the same as the stock shifter mount location.
