I am going to reuse the Center Force Dual friction. Even after about 2500 miles it looks brand new. I found a flywheel for the 454 that will accept the 10.4 inch clutch. So I dont want another expense, Ill just reuse.
My target date is now 1 April to be on the road. I have almost everything needed to finish this. I am going to take next week off and hopefully get the motor finished... did a cam swap in the middle of everything and the custom grind is delaying me 2 weeks. I am so close.

I bought this part from GM performance parts online.
It is pretty lightweight compared to the one that came off my 327. The new one is only 15 lbs, or something like that.

" to retain the clutch I bought Ill get a 10.5" flywheel for a 454 BBC, its Part# 3963537. "

Work has resumed. Today I put on a new shifter to tighten things up. There is a spring inside the shifter housing that aids in the centering of the shifter to help me not miss third. I have pictures but cant seem to remember how to post them to my website.
I also got my cam in from Cam Motion finally. WOW, it looks really nice.
I should resume putting the engine back together right away, then its transport it home, and set it up on the garage floor to put the flywheel on and bellhousing so I can take a look at runout. Once that is finished I should be able to put motor in. Its only a matter of time now.

OK. I could not figure out how I was loading files before so I ended up learning a different way.
In these 2 pics you can see the offset arm. The new piece is much nicer billet and the pin has no play. The older one was getting sloppy.
The shifter has the springs inside to aid in my centering and it was a little better quality too.

New 153 T Bellhousing

Hi,
I just got in a new 153T steel bellhousing to fit a G-body. A stock GM starter will require trimming for clearance in the starter area. That along with the linkage kit I make converting to a stick is easy.
It weighs in at just 18 lbs!!!
I also have new TKO-500 & TKO-600 trannies ready to ship.
