I'm wondering....can you sand defects out of the finish? I've never painted a car, but with the shops wanting over $3k to paint a 5th gen El Camino I might give it a try. I like the black satin look, but what about maintaining the finish? Obviously you wouldn't wax it. How would one keep it spot and streak free?
Anybody?

Here she is mostly put back together for those of you craving more satin in your life

Hey brotha, the car looks evil man! Did you have to put a coat of primer on first or is it a primer paint itself?

we've painted deby cars with Rustoleum's $20 dollar a gal black from Walmart....forget what we used for thinner, but I was amazed at the overall quality! got me thinking, taking enough time to prepare the car and being careful mixing and spraying, you could turn out a really nice paint job with their paint!
