Shocks for deck lid

Post by bbaehr22x » Thu Sep 06, 2018 7:33 am

Long time ago there was topics where someone installed shocks on deck lid to help keep it up. Does anyone have information on what shocks are used and where they get mounted? My trunk lid no longer likes to stay up.

I'm not sure about the conversion, but here's the strut:

There are 2 different setups one uses the strut Tommy posted the other uses a shock.

Great info, Turna! I've never seen design that before. I'l stick with the old torsion bars. More room in the trunk for booze.

Looks like the shock style would work great if you tubbed the car compared to the torsion style.

Thanks guys! Any idea how to mount the struts to Malibu hinges? Or is there a way to replace to get tension back into the torsion bars?
