1978 spindle nut size

Post by 383malibufiend » Sun Nov 11, 2018 8:18 am

hey guys, hope everyone is doing well. i got some replacement spindles and ordered some castle nuts for them....the nuts are 3/4-20 thread, they are too big for these spindles that i have.

is it possible these spindles are 1978 spindles? i know they had a smaller bearing. i am measuring the threads and i dont know if they are metric thread or not...but they measure .741 diameter threads, and i have no idea what size nut fits on these....any ideas? thank you all.

it is a m18 x 1.25 thread...found two nuts in my bolt box...in case anyone needs to know. also the older spindle is shorter by about 1/2 inch, i was trying to convert some spindles i bought to run strange drag brakes...gotta buy another spindle now, buyer beware i guess :)
