Post by AVENGER79 » Wed Dec 18, 2019 8:28 am

do I need to swap my cross member to go to a TH400 if I currently have a 200R4 with dual exhaust?

everything I see seems to imply I can run what I have.

forgot to add car is a 1985 Monte Carlo SS, currently has a 1973 350 with 200R4 trans

I don't think you'll need to change the cross member.

i know the 200r4,th350 and the pg share crossmembers but i don't think the 400's are a straight swap.

the turbo 350 and the powerglide will share a cross member. The 200R4 has the mount farther back but still the same driveshaft length.

The 200R4 and the turbo 400 can use the same crossmember. If you look on the G-force website, part # RCG-400K fits both of those transmissions. You may need to make minor modifications if using a stock 200R4 crossmember for your turbo 400 swap.
