Big front brakes has always been on my list of upgrades for the Malibu and the Monte SS. The thing that gets me is that in a panic stop, with the stock setup, I can lock the front brakes with the Malibu.
The question is, does changing to the larger ID manual brake S-10 rear wheel cylinders, improve the front/rear bias to eliminate this lock-up situation? The Monte already has the S10 wheel cylinders. I guess I should try panic stopping with that to answer my own question.
Considering the expense of upgrading to tubular a arms, why not upgrade to an aftermarket kit? Better calipers, weight reduction etc... Just seems to make more sense in my mind to get a little more bang for your buck.
so the spindles need to be from a 78-90 full size with caprice or towing package to have 12 inch brakes? if i had just spindles how can i tell there for 12 inch brakes and not the regular ones they came with ? also is there anyway to tell it has 12inch brakes other than measure the rotors
