How much boost will factory LSX pistons take? I'm speaking of the ones that are in the 6.0, 5.3, 5.7 LS engines. Any tips for boosting a factory LSX based engine? Thanks! Later on, Nick.

they can make some power, but i would rather be safe and put in a good set of rods/pistons. i am in the same boat. the z 28 goes to the chassis shop anytime this week for a 25.2 cage, so now i am on the motor...looking for about 650 rwhp, stock crank and block with handle it, pistons/rods won't. go look on ls1tech.com and you'll find all you need to know
Factory LS-x stuff is good for about 600 hp.
The piston and rods are weak. If they fail it
could tear up alot of your nice things.
A 6.0 block and crank should get you over 1000hp.

just to mention, stock heads go a long way too. they ones i have have made over 900 rwhp on a different car.
Stock 6.0 heads will support 1000 hp, with spring upgrade... Pistons dont seem to last long over 5-550, but some have made extreme numbers.
