Need Help Selecting a Front Spring

Sounds to me a new set of 5608s should do the trick but as you already well know when you're playing modification games there are no firm answers, you just say by my calculations this should work fine and then go with it,pray and keep your fingers crossed and see what happens, there's one cat on...

    1978 cutlass original 5 speed

I don't know what a Salon is,rear wheel drive or front? If it's a cool car (rear drive) it's worth restoring, repairing or playing with, very few manual trans G-bodies? I have two,Malibus actualy, one factory and one conversion and there are bunches more out there,T50 trans is a paperweight and...

    Battery Charge

If the starter works it's fine,I'm guessing everything in the car works untill you run out of juice due to the alternator not charging? Those things are so simple it is either a bad alternator or something in the field wiring (small two prong plug) as far as I remember the big red 10ga wire goes...

    Battery Charge

10 to 11 volts is just running off the battery, where did the alt come from, who tested it and said it was good? Is this a replacement? What happened to the original? Is the vehicle wiring intact or has it been messed with? That ought to get us started!!

    Brake fittings

I don't believe you'll find that one as I don't think they make it,you could take a 3/16" flare to 1/8" npt and a 1/4" flare to 1/8" npt and hook them together with a 1/8" npt coupler if you wanted to but my question would be why? KillerDave

    Need slip yoke information

I always figured slide the yoke in all the way till it bottoms out either on the shaft or the rear seal and pull it back out a half inch or so,as long as the rear seal has a nice smooth area to ride on,all you have to do is make shure the yoke doesn't bottom out on the trans shaft or seal when...

    Loose pushrod after adjusting valves

Well according to my Snap On tap guide if you're using a 7/16-14 thread wich is what the studs in Jegs calls for you should be able to tap them right out, just be carefull, take your time and use plenty of lubricant, there's some really killer stuff out there called Tap Magic and it is but it is...

    Loose pushrod after adjusting valves

You might try some engine machine shops but my guess is you're only going to find them by the set, even tough if it were me I'd be thinking one stud pulled loose, what about the rest? Complete set from Jegs is only $33 & change,as T5 said though if you have any old-timey auto parts stores around...

    Flywheel bolts..Assebly lube or loctite

I finally thought to look at the 350 on the stand in the garage that I pulled out of a 78 Bu Htp that I had a while back, and yes it is a 350 by the numbers and no it was not the original engine but it has an auto flexplate still on it and it has as I expected the typical GM star lock washers on...

    Flywheel bolts..Assebly lube or loctite

Well I've built & installed a lot of engines and done bunches of clutches and have "never" used lock-tite on a flywheel bolt,as a matter of fact I don't believe I've ever used assembly lube on any flywheel/flex plate bolts either, they have however always been "washed" in a greasy old bird bath...

What kind of Radiator hoses are you using?

I would almost bet the F-body hoses should work just fine, besides that it seems to me that Auto Parts store hoses are a little on the long side and need to be trimmed a bit anyway!! Let us know how it works out!! KillerDave
