You will be fine modifying the heater box like you plan to. I don't know of any AC boxes out there but I do know there are aftermarket ones for our cars for heat only that are a lot more compact than the factory ones.

BRP mounts only work with their pan, musclecar pan, or holley pan and only use their headers.

You can use the new Holley LS swap accessory brackets. But like he said you don't need the hole that's circled on the outside of the cylinder wall. Come to think of it I don't know any blocks with that hole
