I may want to tow a 1500# trailer with the Bonnie ( Buick 231 , Metric200, now with 3.42 gears). The rear tires are tall making my "effective" ratio around 3.08. May put a slightly ahorter tire to help the ratio. So what have you towed?

2000 + is not bad for a stick car until you put it in 5th. Why not see if Edelbrock makes a matching cam for the manifold? If they make a "performer" type cam, idle to 5500/6000 you should be good.

YES, the only "issue" is 78 maybe 79 have a different inner bearing size but that only effects you if you take the spindles also.

Never used the spindles but I would feel comfortable buying from CCP.

I put a deposit on a car finally. The plan is to drive it and see what it needs and then build from there. What kindas MPG can I expect? It is a 85 Bonneville 4 door.

It has a th350 in it. It was swapped in when the metric200 died. It got stuff laying around I can use now knowing it is a BOP.

Finally got some pics of the car, dist is in front so looks like it is the Buick 3.8. So does the 3.8 have a BOP bellhousing pattern? IF I get it, will check the oil pressure , maybe run it on some nice thick Lucas additive. Thanks for the heads up.

I came up with a 3.01:1 ratio. ;) Just wondering about the drive fitment for now. Car would have a high 2 ratio rear gear, but the trans is unknown for now (not stock to the car).

I am boucing around the idea of puting a set 3.73 in front of a METRIC200 trans. Checked and found a M200 never has 3.73z behind it. In 87/88 the 200r did. So can I order/install the drive from a 200r application so the speedo/odo reads correct?

Car ended up a bit rougher then the seller led me to believe so I passed. The search continues. On gears , I had a 79 Gran Prix with 2.14 gears!!!! I drove it in second for a tank of gas and got better mpg.
