Anyone running 17" x 9" with 5" back spacing on all 4 corners?
Year one just announced some new wheels that are visually identical to the 1978-1980 Z28 standard steel 5 spokes. I'd love to get them, but they currently only offer that one size.

I believe some are running a 9" wheel in the front, but you lose turning radius. Ride height seems to be a factor too, I'd like to try to remedy that with a set of wheel tubs in place of the stock wheelwells.

Not a bad look, but I'm not sure I'd spend upwards of $900 on them

Umm, they're $699.00 a set of 4 if you preorder, the pricing is supposed to go to $749.00 upon arrival... Where'd you here about the other $150.00?

I just hope they come out with the same wheel in a more widely useful backspacing soon. I used the old Monte SS alloys because they're visually identical to the '80 Z28 N90 optional wheel that I feel GM may have used on a SS style or BBC powered Malibu back then. These are visually identical to the standard '80 Z28 steelies & the 17" size opens me up to a lot of world class tires I can't get in 15". GM would have definitiely used them on a SS/BBC Malibu package... I saw a link somewhere for resized Monte SS wheels, but now I can't remember where it was. They were fairly expensive, too.

The set of 4 for $700 doesn't include lugnuts or center caps.

Typical Year One... $179.00 for centercaps & lugnuts I can probably get for $60.00 for the caps & maybe $50.00 for lug nuts...

Hey, Tommy I 100% agree with ya on GM using those wheels had they a suitable engine package for a Bu back then. A friend of mine who had his El Camino for sale about a year (I posted it here) had a dark green 79 with black interior and he had a set of 79 Z28 wheels painted to match the car and it looked killer! He ordered a repro chin spoiler which I trimmed very carefully so as not to interfere with the lower fender trim and with that, the truck looked great! I'll see if I can find the original for sale post...back in a few.
