I just ordered some Z06 corvette rims 2) 17x9.5 and 2)18x10.5 and the tires I can get pretty cheap are 275/40/18 for the rear, and yes I am getting spacers. Will these fit in the rear? From the specs compared to a 275/60/15, the 275/40/18 is smaller. They both have a section width of 10.82" but what is the actual width of the tire from side to side, the section width is just the tread width, correct?

I know you have to cut out the fender lip for some 275/60/15's

275/60/15 specs:

Section Width: 10.82 in
Rim Diameter: 15 in
Rim Width Range: 7.5 - 9.5 in
Overall Diameter: 27.99 in
Sidewall Height: 6.49 in
Radius: 13.99 in
Circumference: 87.93 in

275/40/18 Specs:

Section Width: 10.82 in
Rim Diameter: 18 in
Rim Width Range: 9 - 11 in
Overall Diameter: 26.66 in
Sidewall Height: 4.33 in
Radius: 13.33 in
Circumference: 83.75 in

I am just freaking out because I figured they would fit no problem but now I am having my doubts since I've already ordered them. Please help!

No, the section width is the width of the tire at its widest point on the sidewall.

Thank you for the response, I will cut out the fender lips, mount the tires and set them in where I want them then measure for the spacers I will need, then post pics with them mounted. I'm surprised nobdoy had done this set-up yet.
