I am looking to purchase some rims and tires, but I can't get much information from the guy selling them, he is unsure of the rim width and backspacing, all he can tell me is that they were on is 98 S10. Is there any place on the rims that this information might be stamped? (They are cragars if that helps)

I know some people have made this tire size fit under our cars without any mods, but I wanted to see if anyone could give me some more information.

I have these tires on the front of my Elky. I think you will need a 17 x 8 with 5.5 backspacing.

I have 245/45/17 on the front of my bu. 17x8 wheels with 5" backspace. I also have b-body spindles which moves the front wheels out more than the factory g-body spindles. So, if you stick with a 4.5"-4.75" backspace it should fit real nice. Just take a strait edge laid across the back side of the rim and measure down to the mounting pad on the wheel. Like this:
