Hello all, im looking for some tires for my 78 malibu. I just bought new 17x8 wheels with 4.5 bs. Is anyone running a 255/45/17 tire? it seems to me a little taller and a little wider. i will be lowering the back 2 inchs with some drop springs.

I run 255/50R17s on the back. My car has almost a dead-on factory ride height. I used slightly shorter rear springs to get to that ride height. IDK if they're 2" lower than stock, but probably close. My tires are 27" diameter, the stockers are 25.5" diameter, so I had to have lowered it at least 1.5". No rubs anywhere. if you're looking at ending up 2" below factory ride height, IDK if you'll rub or not.

I forgot to mention my wheels are 17" x 8", 4.25" bs. I figure the worst that will happen is you might need a 1/4" wheel spacer.
