Would a posi from a 7.5 from a third or fourth gen camaro/firebird fit my stock malibu wagon rearend. I plan on going with a 9'' later but just wanna have some fun for right now and get my feet wet. Also if I do get a posi from say a 97 Z28 can I put 4.11 gears in that 7.5 or whats the biggest I can go.

Third gen Camaros pre 88 will fit becouse they have the same 26 spline count . 89 and newer hase 28 spline count. The 1989 and newer gears will work on the 1978-83 Malibu wagon.boostedwagon said:

NO, Look at the S-10 inthe glove box they have a code tag look for a G80 code .G80 is the code for a posi.boostedwagon said:

I would look for anything pre-'88 I believe it is (switched to 28-spline axles). I don't know if they had both types or just one.
I'm not worried about the axle spline right now, I don't mind buying a set of 28spline axles if thats all it takes to use the later 7.5 posi. So other than the spline difference will a third or fourth gen 7.5 posi work??
look for 2.8l s10 blazers and s10s 4x4 they got 373 or 411 in them or i got both 373 or 411 i would sell for 60.00 plus shipping as for the posi if you just want to have fun for right now you can buy a mini spool for about a100 bucks
I appreciate the info from you guys, but what I really need to know is if a 7.5posi from a LS1 car will fit in my rearend. My buddy just gave me his, with 25,000 miles on it so I want to use that, a 4:10 gear and I'll buy a set of axles 28spline to match the posi. IS THAT POSI GONNA WORK IN MY REAREND ](*,)
