8.5 axles in a 7.5?

Can I put 8.5" shafts in my 7.5?

I THINK so. You are of course talking about an 8.5" out of a GN, T-Type, 442, or Hurst Olds right? Would need to be to have the correct length. According to the catalog, all use the same bearings and seals. You would also have to make sure that you're using a 28 spline carrier as the 26 spline carrier CANNOT be modified to work. I've been using Moser 28 spline axles in my 7.5" housing for five years with pretty good results but they were ordered for the application. Just remember that used axles are made with factory spec. materials and have been used(abused?) repeatedly for several years.

yes, the 28 spline 8.5" axles fit right in, as long as you have a 28 spline carrier.
