8.5 or 9 inch ?

ok to start my malibu has a 8.5 rear in it now an i just snaped a axel now the question should i just build the 8.5 or just o with a moser 9 inch i have a cut down 9 inch that i could use the 3rd member and the spool it is 35 spline so i could buy the 9inch housing with axels from moser and ill i would have to buy is gears then put it togather or should i just beef up my 8.5 with 33s moser axels and spool if i was going to go with th 9inch what would i have to do to my drive shaft or would i have to just get a new 1 made
