The truck intake makes more torque down low when compare to the ls1 intake. But it runs out of breath quicker up top than the ls1. The ls6 intake is the way to go hands down, especially if you're running an aftermarket cam, and headers.
Thanks for the input guys. i guess the bottom line is there nothing like bigger bore. ](*,)
on the plus side. i think i kow have a solid lead on an LQ9...
5.3's make good power so don't be too discouraged. Bigger cubed Lsx engines do make more power of course, but don't count yourself out until you hit the track, it might surprise you.
X2 on what he^ said. The 5.3's arent bad. I was able to get my hands on a set of stock LS1 heads and pistons. I removed the valves from some ls1 heads and put them in my 706 casting 5.3 heads along with a CompCam, roller rockers, springs and pp job. I cant wait for the track to open.
X3 5.3's aren't that bad at all, I put one in my Iroc with an MN12 GTO 6-speed transmission and ran mid to high 8's in the 1/8th mile which isn't bad considering it's a stock 5.3 with longtubes. My only problem was getting traction with the sh!tty general exclaim tires.
