With the 2455 headers, raise the motor or tilt it up on the driver's side with the oil filter off, car raised up and supported. The header will slip in. The passenger side goes on with motor in place with no plugs or starter in place. I used a reciprocating saw to trim the rear lower a frame mount to clear the tubes.

If you have raised port heads, I had to cut the tube that passes under the a frame mount and extend it with a bend I got from Speedway Motors.

I have ran both styles of headers. Still have cars with each set in place.

You can get a little addional clearance buy pulling the brake proportioning valve off the frame and grinding the mount boss off flush with body (its only like 1/4 inch or so) it helps with header and brake line room.

I just remembered that it was the Super Comp headers wrapped the frame due to larger primary tubes, but the Comp didn't, at least for the headers that were designed to fit the 1978-1988 A/B body. Many years ago, there was some header threads, but the previous owner thought it a good idea to "prune" most threads over time, so the knowledge once shared may be lost...but it may still be there.
