I was taking off the window trim last night and had the thought of shaving the drip rails around the windows. Anyone done it before? How does it look?

Yes it has been done before. I think it was CarCraft back in the early 90's did a compley malibu 2dr build up and they did it. Seemed ok from the pics, but in person it's always different so I'm not sure. I know that they basically had to weld the roof to the pillars and all the way along the seam, didnt seem that hard, just time consuming.
Unless it never rains in your area or it will be a show/race car, it'll be a waste of time. The roof is attached by the drip rails to the body structure. If not done properly the welds will crack weakening the overall structure of the car.
