Well I finally sold my camaro to finance my malibu build. This time I'm starting from the back and working my way forward. This will be my first attempt at a car that will actually see the strip 1/8 mile. I plan on narrowing the frame rails and mini tubbing the rear. Should I order a narrower (than stock) rear or run offset rims. I'll have plenty of questions and along the way so I hope you guys are patient.
My plans are to gut the car, 9 inch rear, glide or TH350 and my current BBC
.30 over 454
.100 dome pistons
781 heads cleaned up by me
comp 4X4 xtreme 270 cam
full roller rockers
weiand stealth intake
750 holley
I know it's a truck cam but it's already complete and fresh

If you are narrowing the frame, I'd narrow the diff also. Deep offset wheels can be hard to get off if they fit inside your fenders.
Are you going 4 link or ladder bar or what?

I plan on keeping the stock four link configuration with aftermarket components. How much should I narrow it 3" or so? Also most of the kits I've found don't come with brake components, do I need to source a Junk yard nine to steel the brakes off of. I know there are different ones and it seems most use a torino style set up

you can buy drum brake kits from moser or strange. I build 9" housings and I use the small Gm axle tube ends so i can use the common 9.5x2 gm brakes found on just about any GM car with an 8.5 10 bolt. I prefer to stick with GM brakes because i know the e-brake cable will hook up and iknow what drums and small parts or brake pads i may need when stuff needs to get replaced. If you aren't narrowing your frame then I would just stay stock width on the diff. Yuor first post said you were narrowing the frame, did you mean you were going to cut and narrow the idividual frame rails? If you did that you could probably run a 15x10 with about 5.5 bs, don't take my word for it though because i haven't done it.
