bumper shocks

has anyone else noticed that the rear bumper shocks are solid and the fronts are absorbers?i was thinking of putting a set of fronts in the rear.anyone else thought of this one? #-o

I think certain g-bodys have the absorbers in the rear and some are solid. My 80 el camino rear has bumper absorbers.
