How would you qualify or quantify the obstacles installing GM's modern alloy 3.6L V6 w/6 speed AT in a Malibu wagon? Thinking of an engine from a 2010+ Camaro, low 300hp range, ca. 270ft-lb.

My interest in the above swap is to improve dynamics, the 3.6's high tech features i.e. FI, 4-valve heads, variable cam timing and 6 gears. I presume the 3.6 saves ca. 200+# vs. an iron V8 with commensurately improved braking and front-rear balance.

I drive slush boxes only, no manual interest.

Are GM alloy-block FI V8s pretty close to a direct drop-in? Approximately how much lighter is the alloy V8 vs. iron V8 (both small block?)
