i picked up a big block for my malibu, running when i bought it, but it has sat awhile so i figured id pull it apart and put new rings and bearings in it, to me it looks like its been hot before, but the journals on the crank rod/main are clean

my main question is does it need line honed? do the rods need resized?

It doesn't look horrible, but it couldn't hurt to hone it...

Have it checked your right there. It's better to be safe than sorry later. They don't look that bad, but for as little it would cost check them. It will be calming knowing that everything is good to go and you won't have to wonder. My Opinion?
