drop spindles and tie rod rub

So I installed new springs, Moog 5660, and the front sits higher than I'd like. Fender opening is about 1 3/4 higher than the tire. I'm running 215/70/15 up front. Was this king of cutting a coil or less to drop the front but I want a good ride so I'm thinking abbout drop spindles. My worry is the spacing I now have between the rim/tire to the tie rod. The space is a little more than 1/4 inch. I'm running 15 inch rally wheels but not sure on the backspacing. My concern is with drop spindles the tie rods will hit the rim/ tire. Anyone running a comparable setup without problems. If I use 2 inch drop spindles the fender will sit over the tire about .5 inches which is fine.

Hey Jeff,I'm not sure how much help i can be but here goes..I'm running the 2" dropped spindles, new stock springs,an iron headed sb and a 17x7"wheel with 4" backspacing.i have just under and inch of clearance between the tie rod end and the wheel.yes the drawback with drop spindles is the tie rod can get closer.the only advice i can offer is with your car at ride height, wheels straight, lay down in front of it looking at the tie rod position and picture where the inside of the WHEEL will be in relation to the rod end two inches higher.with drop spindles the tie rod position doesn't change, the spindle pin height does=the wheel will be higher in the wheel well bringing the very bottom of the wheel closer to the tie rod end.see how close the inside of the rim will be from there.

Thanks Melloelky. That's what I was thinking. If I do the spindles with 15 inch rims it looks like it will hit. I think if I did 16/17 inch rims I'd be in a better boat. Well maybe see if the springs settle at all. Kinda sucks I'm not liking the lift. The only other thing is cutting the springs ...not that I cant but the front already is pretty stiff. I do think it sits higher than stock so maybe its not a bad idea
