Have a 750 edelbrock carb on my 454 in my 81 malibu. Car has a wide ratio muncie with 3.25 rear gear and 28 inch M/T tires. Car runs good, idles fine, pulls hard, however when i rev the engine and dump the clutch for a quick start the car just dies. I have had the timing on ported vaccum, manifold vaccum, adjusted the floats, installed fuel pressure regulator set at 5 psi, idle speed etc. and car continues to stall. Initial timing is 14 with total at 38 all in by about 2,800rpm. I did remove weight from the secondary air valve, would this possibly cause this to happen? It's driving me nuts?

Put the weight back on. You're opening the secondary air valve faster than the load requires & there's not enough signal to pull enough fuel. It's the same concept as having too light of a secondary spring on a Holley vac sec.
