electric window problem

hi i have a 1986 monte carlo ss whit electric windows and my passenger window works fine to go down but take a wile to go up and even sometimes it does not wanna go all the way up i have to help it is there any test to do on the motor to let me know if its the motor the problem or lubrification on the track???? thanks for your advice!

IMO, i think you need a new motor. When the window goes down you dont have much resistance that is why it goes down fast. When you roll it up you have the weight of the window pushing against it, that is why it is slow going up. You could try lubing the track with white lithium grease but that will only put a bandaid on your problem. I think the window motor is the way to go.

The brushes in the motor are probably worn. I'm not sure there's a way to rebuild the motor, but Autozone sells new ones for $44+, Rock Auto also carries them starting at $24... I don't know how they are on shipping though.
