Ok so here i go, I have a 408ci stoker small block that i bought from T&L engine development its supposed to put out 510hp and 525flbs of torque. Now i put it in the car and brought it to a chassis dyno and i know you take about 20 to 25% off for automatic. The car laid down 315hp and 349flbs torque lame_sign.gif . It should have put down at least 400 hp. I have 1 3/4 supercomp headers and demon 750 carb and msd ignition, 8mm wires, turbo350 trans 3800 stall 411 rear ford 9in. 1/2 in fuel line front to back, holly blue pump. The car pulls like a banshee till 4700rpm and then its like someone turns the key off. The cam is a comp cam 540lift. The heads are Dart Pro1 platinum 208/160s with 1.6 roller rockers. not sure what the problem is??? I did talk to the builder and he is willing to work with me so i get what i paid for. Any in site would be appreciated. bump_sign.gif

My question would be what long block combo did they get their numbers from? They should be able to provide you with that info. And, is that (theirs) an engine stand rating or chassis (most likely engine stand)?

what kind of ignition do you have? fuel pressure? timing?

Also a higher stall converter will "eat up" hp, and you have to be prepared for this when doing a chassis dyno.

Running out of fuel or valve springs or lifters/lash not adjusted properly. An automatic is at least 25% plus the Fiord rear eats more than Salisbury stuff.

what cc's are your intake runners? what is your compression ratio? what intake are you running? full exhaust or open headers? sounds like your intake head cam stall combo is off.

Does it actually die or just power stops climbing or does it drop like a rock?

Power stops climbing, If i hold throttle at lets say 4500 then stuff it it don't pull no more motor should pull to 7000
