295 horses is respectable, what kind of torque do these motors make. it should get really good fuel mileage. this is a cool project. did you see the fairmont with a stock 5.3 turbo at dragweek? i think it ran 10's!

4.8's arent bad,I have owned both 4.8 and 5.3 and the differences
are negligable in seat of the pants pick up truck driving.....It should be

In stock form there's not a huge difference in power between the 4.8 and 5.3, there is more potential, and some more torque with the 5.3, but stock for stock I don't think it will be extremely noticeable, probably just a little less down low torque than the 5.3, and you can usually make that up with a tuner & little bolt-ons.
Good job Phillip. 295hp from a 4.8?? Thats alot more power than what they had from the factory in the 80s.
