My cousin has the engine out of a 3.8 GN, but has blown up turbo. He was going to put it into a 280z but never did.., i thought about buying to put into a 280z i had, but i sold the car. Now i have a '83 malibu wagon with the 3.8 v6.. i am tossing around the idea of either 383 or 3.8 turbo.. what are your thoughts on the 3.8 swap? does anyone have any info on the swap? pics?

I'd do the 3.8 turbo for the haul a** with good milage factor. It should be practically a bolt-in. A little fabbing for intercooler plumbing and such should be the hardest part. Get the drill and sheet metal screws and get after it!

I have an 81 Buick century wagon with the 87 gn engine, I'd toss it in. Stock intercooler and all. You would nee to use the 2004r or a BOP TH350/400 for a transmission. The wiring harness is the biggest deal. You already have the V6 springs in the front. You can get and GN or T-Type exhuast for it, it'll fit on the wagon.

If you are afraid of Fuel Injection, stay away. If you aren't, and don't mind swapping witing harness', go for it.

Also, the GN guys keep parts for the Turbo Buicks pretty high, so needed parts can get pretty expensive too.

All in all, I like my turbo Buick Wagon, it's faster than my juiced 350 wagon!
