info on oil and water senders.

ok im doing a carbed 5.3 and can someone show me some pics how they did there oil and water sending units.and info on what you used to do it.thanks Joey

Im a cheap SOB..so
take the factory oil sender, on the top rear of the block, knock the plastic guts out and then you can drill and tap for the brass oil sender fitting.
For a temp sender, just take a 1/4" pipe tap, grease it up to catch the shavings, and run it right into the hole in the head.

This is exactly what i did. On the passenger side head i ran a 1/4" tap through the port in the back of the head with grease on it.
For oil pressure i put the factory electric unit in a vice, whacked it with a hammer, drilled out the hole and tapped it with an 1/8" tap

Also, Street&Performance sells a oil tree that taps into the filter housing.
