Hey Guys, Well the 19 year old and I juuuuust about got his 1979 Monte finished ....finally. The original dash had caught on fire and we changed it out with another 79 Monte dash ...like for like ....or so we thought...LOL!!
We have two wiring issues: (1) We can't find where the green wire from the back of the delay wiper switch connects to and (2) there is a 2 wire harness that goes from the fuse block that is baffling us.
I took a look at my 80 Malibu which also has a delay wiper switch and the green wire connects to another green wire that goes to the back of the fuse block (...I figured this may go to the wiper delay plug on the engine well side of the fuse block ...but I'm really just guessin). Regarding the 2 wire harness, the wiring appears to also comes from the back of the fuse block and goes to a 3 plug male connector. The third wire splits away from the connector and plugs into the front of the interior fuse block. This connector then mates to a three wire female connector. Ihave about 4 or 5 inches of pigtail which I cut from the old harness. The wires appear to be: brown, brown with a white stripe and green. I have looked in 78-80 Montes, Regals, Cutlasses and Malibus and I cannot find anything similar. ANY help would be greatly appreciated.
