It's much more lenient it seems, at least that's how it's seemed to be if you go to one of the facilities with guys that don't know much about what they're looking at. My truck originally started with the original 4.3 v6. Within a year of moving I had swapped a 383 in with aftermarket intake and headers. It passed. Their main thing is the cats and EGR. If it originally came with one cat, it can have one or two, but if it came with dual cats, it can't go back to one cat. Besides that I think it's do-whatcha-want... so long as it will pass the sniffer or OBD2 test. Also, the only areas that actually get tested are the Tucson and Phoenix metro areas.

Also, the only areas that actually get tested are the Tucson and Phoenix metro areas.In Maryland if it's 20 years old you can get Historic tags(My 89 S-10 & 89 Jeep),25 years Street Rod tags(MY-78 BU),30 years Antique,none require a state inspection or emissions test,So no cats,egr,or other emission devices required on your car.It's great!!!!(The Elcy & Cutlass,belong to freinds,(both Historic tags), I've been building these for them over the years,both where bought new by the owners and they still have them,there just better than new now.)

here is my new find, two owner 45k original miles, almost perfect interior, zero rust, factory v8 car... not sure what im going to do with it yet, trying to figure out what wheel direction i want to go...little bigs or 17's or 18's...etc....hasn't hit me yet. either way i jumped on this one when i had the chance, 45k malibu's just dont show up everyday for sale. Yes it was an old lady that had it...
