I have a B.W. T-10 from an 80 Z28 in it. It's a blast to drive & is quicker than when I had a th350.

Are you using the original mechanical linkage? If so, what headers are you using?
I'm using stock mech. linkage from a 79' Elky. The headers are out of a 79' camaro. I had a set from a 68' camaro til the collectors rotted off. I've got about $1400 invested in my car & $937 of that in the heads! They are 1.94 fuelies.

I could'nt tell ya for sure. My 1st is moderately steep, but is most definitely a close ratio trans. There are sourceful books out there. Enter the year & car trans came out of. Good luck.

I started a thread a while back on Muncie/T-10/Saginaw ratios. Easiest way is to look at the input shaft & look for how many rings go around the input shaft (perpendicular to the splines). That should give you the ratio set (my 3-speed is the 3.50 first gear set) :)
