monte ss steering box into malibu...

I grabbed a sterring box from a 84 SS. Will this bolt right into my malibu, or do I need to change the lines and a pitman arm?

I am not sure, and I would love to get this in...lol

I'm pretty sure you'll need to change the lines or get adapters. IDK what box you have now, but if it's a "four bolt" (Saginaw 700) power box, other than the hoses fittings it's a bolt-in.

They're both 700 boxes, but IIRC, the fittings changed in 1980. I think you can get adapters to go from inverted flare to o-ring.

Ok...I wasn't sure...I read something somewhere about pitman arms needing changed. Bolt in is a nice touch... Also have the Jeep shaft, and a new column going in as well.

A monte SS box dropped right into my 79 and 83. I used the stock fittings already on the lines and pitman arm that was on the box.

1979 might be the start of the metric boxes, I am not certain either. If your box has a stem sticking out of the input shaft like the MCSS box, you may be lucky. If not, you may need to replace the lines.
