If you run 10.99-9.99 you'll need aftermarket axles & C-clip eliminators just to pass tech. There's a host of other requirements, too- Driveshaft loop, SFI scattershield, rollbar (rollcage if the firewall, floor pan or body has been modified), SFI clutch & flywheel (on sticks), SFI balancer, 5 point harnesses, single layer jacket, gloves, proper helmet, steel valvestems on all 4 tires... confused_swirl.gif

Thanks a mill tommy...
I am looking to go mid 10s on motor...
My big question is....
Would you recomend the after market 28 spline???? With c-clip eliminaters???
For those times???
Or should I just pay up  and go to 30 or 33 spline... With c-clip eliminators????
Thanks guys for all the help.....Joey....

Anything faster than 10.99 you must have C-clip elminators, so there's no chioce there. I've never seen a kit that didn't eventually leak, so getting Ford ends put on your housing is the way to go, unless you're REALLY strapped & you're just going to do axles & a diff. Other guys here have a lot more recent drag racing experience than I do, so they may have a better answer, but I'd think that spline count partially depends on how "hard" you plan on hitting the tires. If you're going off footbrake with an automatic & you're not running any power adders I'd think that a good set of aftermarket 30 spline axles would be more than OK for mid 10's. Personally, I always overbuild everything within the limits of my budget, so if it's not rediculously more costly, my personal approach would be to just get the 33's. It certainly can't hurt. My 9" I got from Drivetrain Direct has 31 spline Superior axles in it & they rated that rear at 650 HP, a good bit more than I'll be putting through it, but they suggested that setup over one that was rated closer to my output power because I'm running a manual trans.

X2, like someone said. Do it once and be done with it. You won't have breaking an axle in the back of your mind when you stage the car. I just did 33 spline axles and a spool in my car, do i need it right now, no. but i wont have to worry about it when i do reach that level.
