What brand / type of sbc aluminum rod is most user friendly. Meaning, Im looking for a basic 5.7 aluminum rod that does not take special bearings, special pin diameters, or anything. Something that will come "out the box" and go right in without hassle. Let me know what you think.

I'm sure you've already made up your mind, but here goes anyway. The 2 Brands that I've used, and with great success, are Brooks, and Childs & Alberts. I've run both brands in dirt circle track motors, and drag motors. The thing to be careful about with the aluminum rods, are the tendency to stretch on deceleration. If you are going to drag race the car, when you get to the "big end", flip the car into neutral, don't let the motor slow the car down. I'm sure there are other brands out there that are just as "user friendly", but I'm used to these two. ...Mikey

Popping the Trans into neutral can be very dangerous if you're running an Auto Trans, like in "Boom". It will cause Internal parts to spin 2 to 2-1/2 times trap rpm. I've seen the results & they weren't pretty. If the Trans is built to eliminate Engine Braking this "may not" be a problem.
